My name is Orlando Marty, a designer with a focus on web and interaction design. Currently, I work at BOLD as an interaction designer building new products and helping shape existing ones.
I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, an island where it’s summertime all year round. None of my parents or close family are designers, artists or musicians, so that initially made me a rare breed in the chronological tree.
Apart from being a designer, I enjoy the rest of the time playing bass, taking photos, walking and exploring new places, and trying to figure out how to build things.
In 2012, when in college, I was part of a team of four where we won the Gold Prize at the main Advertising Festival in Puerto Rico known as “Cúspide”. After that, I started working for agencies and later as a freelancer, doing UX and Art direction for digital projects.
Some of the agencies, studios and startups I’ve worked with are Badillo Saatchi & Saatchi, Gain App, Campodata, KIS, De La Cruz & Associates/Ogilvy & Mather, Blimp, Latent UX Barcelona, Tiguere Corp., La Ferretería & TrésEpic.
In 2015, I got my M.A. at Elisava Escola Superior de Dissenyi Enginyeria at Barcelona and worked at Latent UX, also based in Barcelona, as UX and Visual Designer.
